In book one of the Pieces Trilogy: Three days ago, Paige Masterson turned twenty-one—the next day, she graduated from the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston—it should have been the happiest time of her life. Instead, she wants to crawl into a ball until she can’t shed another tear as today she attends her parents’ wake.
After everything with her parents’ deaths is taken care of, Paige leaves her hometown of South Boston, Massachusetts for an adventure across country, all made possible by the money left to her in her parents’ will.
At the end of her journey, Paige lands in Loveland, Colorado where she not only finds a home and friends, she opens up a photo studio too. Now on a path to healing, the last thing Paige needs or wants is a relationship.
Ronan James is the newly drafted quarterback to the Denver Broncos and even though he knows he will be in the backup position, he is on top of the world. Being in his position, women fall at his feet, so when he walks into a coffee shop with his best friend and spots a dark haired beauty who sparks his interest, he finds the only woman who seems to be immune to his charms.
Not to be deterred, Ronan continues to push until in the end, he wonders if he has what it takes to heal Paige’s heart or will he be the cause of it falling in pieces once again?
